MRTS 50-Bed Hospital

When a 50-bed mobile, acute care facility is required, the Western Shelter 53-foot Mobile Response Trailer System (MRTS) can store and transport at least six immediately deployable shelters, housing 3,826 square feet of interconnected, environmentally secure, and safe medical workspace.  The GateKeeper Shelter kits provide an all-hazards solution and enhance your emergency preparedness infrastructure in responding to incidents of natural disaster, purposeful acts of bioterrorism, and halting the spread of communicable disease (e.g. pandemic flu).

The system rapidly deploys utilizing NDMS-DMAT type members/teams.  All shelter kits, electrical kits, water handling/hygiene support, and sanitation are pre-packaged in field-carry bags utilizing 30-35 lb per person lift maximum: no carry bag exceeds 140 lbs.  All case systems and equipment components are removable for optional loading or shipping from trailer system to pallet system.  The GateKeeper Shelter can be deployed in a variety of environments, including medical emergency response, disaster response, etc.  The shelter system offers interoperability with FEMA/NDMS/DMAT and FEMA/USAR teams throughout the country, and can adequately support 50-plus beds.  The 53’ trailer can be converted into multi-functional command, billeting and storage.  The trailer can billet up to 24 persons when utilizing the Western Shelter Bunk Bed, or can convert to hospital bed containment as well.  When deployed in support of any all-hazard mission, the 8.5’ x 11.5’ Command Center is operational as soon as the on-board 80kW generator is started.

Western Shelter products are normally manufactured with Desert Sand color vinyl.  All Western Shelter vinyl products are also available as MilSpec and Berry Amendment compliant in Desert Sand, Beige, and OD Green.
