World demand for clean, pure drinking water has never been greater. As a result, countless filtration systems have been developed to serve the needs of millions of people desperate for clean, safe water. Unfortunately, global emergencies don’t always occur in locations where filtration technology is available. Worse yet, perhaps it has been destroyed.

The AC 201-2 is a portable, reliable, and easy to maintain non-salt water filtration system that can be hand carried to any location. Operation can be established in minutes and clean, safe water production can start immediately.

Weighing in at just 42 pounds and packaged in a rugged, self contained field case, the AC 201-2 is ideal for any emergency responding agency or remote site operator. The AC 201-2 is capable of producing 1800 gallons (6812 liters) of chemical and biological, contaminant free water in a 24 hour period.
Coupled with our full line of FDA approved portable water bladders, Western Shelter Systems AC 201-2 can satisfy the pure water requirements of just about any mission.

The AC 201-2 is designed to operate on multiple power sources - 220 VAC, 110 VAC or 12 VDC, giving it unprecedented flexibility in the field. Domestic and European cord sets and battery input leads are provided with the unit. Other international input leads are an available option.

The AC 201-2 dual input design lets the unit be operated in a drafting mode through its internal pump or from any available pressurized water source through its pressure port. Both a suction hose with 80 mesh screening capsule and pressurized intake hose complete with preset pressure regulator and gauge are provided with the system. Pressurized intake is regulated to a maximum of 29 psi. The internal pump is bypassed when using a pressurized water source.

Stage One filtering is through a pleated micro filtration chamber that removes rust, silt, sediments and giardia cysts to a 1.0 micron level. This filter can be cleaned in the field with a cleaning brush provided with the system.

Stage Two is a tandem set of KDF/GAC filters. These filters remove heavy metals, hydrogen sulfide, irons and chlorine. KDF’s bacteriostatic properties prevent bacteria from forming within the third chamber.

Stage Three is a carbon block chamber. The carbon block micro filtration device removes harmful chemicals, pesticides and other contaminants which may cause illness, unpleasant tastes and objectionable odors to a .05 micron level. Beneficial natural minerals are passed through the filter.

Stage Four is a stainless steel ultraviolet sterilization chamber. This chamber uses a mercury vapor lamp with quartz sleeve to produce ultraviolet energy at a frequency and intensity to destroy any existing bacteria, yeasts, molds and viruses found in water.  Any organisms that may have passed through the filtering stages are completely destroyed prior to exiting the system.

The AC 201-2’s patented electronic sensor system within the UV chamber constantly monitors the frequency and intensity of the ultraviolet light passing through the chamber. If light intensity falls below 40,000 microwatt second per square centimeter (uWsec/cm2) the patented sensor will activate a solenoid valve shutting down the flow of water through the system. After the system has recovered to the 40,000 uWsec/cm2 level for a period of 30 to 60 seconds - allowing complete destruction of organisms in the chamber - the water will begin to flow again.

Only the AC 201-2 has this built in failsafe feature.

Users are assured that if water exits the unit, it is safe to consume. 99.9% of all chemical and microbiological contaminates are either removed or destroyed.
