The Western Shelter Vestibule System is a unique, patent-pending design that allows for maximum flexiblity and expansion of its portable shelter system.

With more rigid-frame portable shelters deployed with disaster response teams than any other such shelter in the world, Western Shelters Vestibule System means that your shelter can now be immediately integrated with arriving emergency response teams to form an ever-expanding Base of Operations or Field Medical Facility.

With the unique Vestibule, staff and patients can move throughout the complex without opening doors to the exterior environment. While, at the same vestibule connector doorway time, individual shelters can be compartmentalized with zippered divider walls and pass-through divider curtains to permit free movement throughout the facility.

Standarized Components

And because of the unique octagon shape and the ability to install doors and wall panels in various positions around the perimeter, additional shelters can be connected in a variety of configurations to best utilize available space.

When a vestibule replaces a doorway, the door can either be repositioned as an exterior door to the Vestibule, or the door’s wall-spacer panel can be inserted to complete the Vestibule wall and the door used elsewhere or stored. Vestibules can also be connected wall seam-to-wall seam without disturbing the existing doorways.

As in all Western Shelters, the vertical walls and strong aluminum frames ensures maximum useable floor space and the ability to hang equipment from the wall and overhead framework.

Now you can combine mass casualty surge capacity with contamination protection for the hospital and staff with the GateKeeper mobile emergency medical shelters.
The GateKeeper Isolation System includes the patent-pending Isolation Entryway and Isolation Vestibule Connector. Both the Entryway and Connector Isolation Kits can be installed in just a few minutes without disturbing the deployed shelters or their occupants.

Meets CDC Guidelines

When properly operated with a HEPA filtered-HVAC or fan-assisted HEPA filtration system that produces a volume of at least 1250 CFM, the isolation-controlled shelter can meet or exceed CDC guidelines for twelve air exchanges per hour.

Exhausting a portion of the available filtered airflow to the outside atmosphere will achieve the CDC standard of 0.015 bars of barometric pressure required for negative or positive environments within the shelter.

GateKeeper medical shelters can be fitted with the Isolation Package as a factory option and as an Isolation Conversion Package for GateKeeper and Western Shelters already in the field.

The Isolation Package is available in single or multiple shelter complexes. When your preparedness plan calls for one or more isolated shelter in your portable medical complex, the optional Isolation Vestibules Connector creates a secure, expandable environment that maintains the isolation integrity of each shelter’s air.

Multi-use Flexibility for Infection Isolation

When a GateKeeper shelter is equipped with its own filtered-HVAC unit, the shelter can be individually pressurized and air conditioned, so negative pressure in one shelter can be maintained while an adjacent shelter maintains positive pressure. The GateKeeper Isolation System can support positive pressure for surgical units and ICU patient wards, while providing controlled space for diagnostics and staff support.
